My first post this year.

I don't really have anything too exciting going on, so instead I'll talk about fandom things.

1. After all these years, who is still writing in the Sentinel fandom? List your faves so I can check them out and see if I've read everyone I should be reading. :) I've been in a reading mood.

2. Does anyone know of anyone that writes poetry and posts it online? I love poetry. It usually sings to me. And me being cheap hoped I could read some online for free. *grin*

3. Does anyone get into Ancestry.com other than me? And if so, have you found anyone interesting in your blood line?

4. Any remedies for facial breakout. Acne can be the worst, especially when you are going on 14 years old. We've tried all sorts of things, but nothing helps the breakout on her forehead.

5. HOw is winter treating you so far? It had been pretty mild here in Tucson, AZ, but the temperature has dropped like crazy I woke up today to a wonderful high of 40, rain and wind.

6. What is your favorite season of the year?

7. I'm looking for some new authors in mysteries if anyone has anyone to rec, please do. I would love to find a series of a book.

8. Did everyone enjoy the Sentinel Secret Santa this year? It was wonderful. We have some real talent in the bunch and I'm not talking about me. *grin*

9. If anyone would like a little story written for their birthday during the year, let me know your birthday and I'll get to it. My email address is PattRose1 at aol dot com. I put out some in December for all the birthday pals in December. :)

Have a great year, evereyone. Hugs, Patt

One of my cousins did a family tree, many years ago. I haven't kept it updated - I'm not really interested in the next two (three?) generations, I'm part of their history. It went back to 1830 or so; but in Scotland getting further back than the early 1800s isn't necessarily easy - there was a lot of movement out of the Highland area during the preceding 50-70 years, with the Highlanders who moved to the Lowlands changing their names and not telling their children where they had originally come from, and where the earliest of my named ancestors came from was at the southern end of the hill tracks those migrants (refugees, really) would have taken. And my surname is the kind of name those migrants adopted.

Favourite season? Not sure I have one. There's something I like in all four seasons... The one thing I don't like is the long winter nights. I much prefer the short summer nights where we only have 4-5 hours of darkness (at most). Go to bed in daylight, get up in daylight... and the hours of summer 'darkness' aren't all that dark. The sky is light enough that it's impossible to see any but the dozen or so brightest stars/planets. The dark winter nights are depressing.

You did a story for my January birthday, Patt, and I thank you very much for it. :-)

Have you tried a dermatologist? They might have a solution that works.

Years ago, before my mother passed away, she gave me a rough rundown of the family. I wrote it down, knowing it would come in handy in the future, and of course I can't remember where I placed it. All I know definitely is my father's family is from Calabria (noted for their stubbornness) and my mother's came from Egidia, a small town outside Rome.

As bluewolf458 said, there's something about each season that calls to me. The soft warmth of spring with its flowers bringing color and sweet scents after the long, cold winter, the sunshine of summer before the heat becomes brutal, the cool of autumn after those brutal days, and finally the first silent snowfall of winter, blanketing the trees and lawns with white.

Wishing you and yours a happy, healthy New Year. <3

The only season I’m not so fond of is summer because I am not a fan of the heat at all.

I’m still working my way through Secret Santa and probably will be for another couple of weeks, sigh. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen so far and appreciate all those who participated.

Hi, Patt!
My favorite season is spring. I love it because is not too cold and not too warm. It has the ideal temperature, at least where I live. I live in Uruguay, a country in South America.
And the Sentinel Secret Santa was awesome! I enjoyed it a lot.
Your contribution to it was amazing. Though it was a 'Secret Santa', I knew when a story was yours. You have a very recognizable style.
I hope you have a very good 2019. Is there going to be a Sentinel Bingo this year? I hope so, last year's was incredible.

I still can't reach Morgan. So not sure about Sentinel Bingo for 2019. I'll keep trying to reach her.
