Day three of the positive things meme.

Well, I had a wonderful day with the family. The day just flew by. Have you noticed that about weekends? They seem to go faster then the weekdays. LOL I'm just saying. Here we go with three positive things.

1. I'm so grateful that I didn't have any heart problems and that the ulcer is doing well now. I'm doing rather well, actually and sure can't complain. We should all be grateful for good days and a good life.

2. I talked to my mom today and she's so funny. It's not always a good funny. She's got dementia, so it's trying on all of us, including her. But, we had a great talk and she asked me to come down next month or November. So, I'm going to try and do that. We'll see what comes into play in my real life situation. Anyway, the positive part of this is that she's still with me. We have good talks about my dad and missing him. It's nice to be able to talk about him with her now. She used to get too upset. Things are looking up.

3. I have wonderful siblings. I miss all of them. Most of them live in New Mexico, so I feel like I need to go and see them soon, but I have to wait and see what happens after we get home from vacation. I'm lucky to have all my siblings still with me. I have one sister, Mary, and six brothers. :)

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Thinking of all of you.

Hugs, Patt

So wonderful that you have so many siblings! And that you all get along so well! A blessing indeed!

How lovely to have so many brothers and a sister too. And fabulous that you all like each other! I have friends who can't stand their siblings, which I find endlessly sad.

Happy Sunday! I'm being a lazy slob - great innit? *g*

I'm closest with my sister and my one brother who is two years older than me. But I love them all. Just favor Dan and Mary. When I first met my hubster we were 16, barely, and I was introducinig him to all of the family members and they were standing in a row and I said, "And this is Peter, Paul and Mary." Rodney cracked up and we all looked at him like he'd grown a second head. We didn't understand why he was laughing. Rodney thought I was teasing him. But the three youngest are Peter, Paul and Mary. LOL It never dawned on us that it sounded like I was announcing the group. LOL He still brings it up sometimes. We've been married so long that when my dad died, my hubster was more upset than some of the family members. He loves my family. (Thank God for that.) My dad always told everyone that he had seven sons. He always counted Rodney. They were best buds. We sure miss him.

It's so wonderful your husband ended up really close to your dad - it must be a comfort that he misses your dad too. *hugs*

Rodney's dad died right before our wedding. We were only 18. So, my dad sort of took over and played dad to him too. It paid off, but Rodney said it was very hard losing both of his dads. But you know, some people lose their dads very young, like he did. And then some of our dads live to be 89 years old. Still very grateful for the time we had with him. I like this meme. It makes you think about things that are important to you and others. :)

You know... When I was younger the more I saw of other people's sisters, the happier I was not to have one. So if I was doing this meme, one of my positive things would be that I have *no* siblings.

Oh, that's too bad, Sheila. I'm so fond of my sister and can't imagine my life without her in it. But, I have heard stories about other people's siblings that made me cringe. I'm just grateful that I don't have to deal with that. :)
