What I'm up to lately...

I've been trying to take some weight off and with the help of dieting and my recumbent bike I've lost ten pounds. (almost three weeks) My clothes are starting to fit better, that's why I dieted anyhow because my old things were getting to tight and small. I didn't want to buy new. So, now I'm on this wonderful diet and I feel much better already. I'm up to five miles a day on my bike and I love it. It's not hurting my poor ruptured disc in my back at all. Physical therapist told me what kind of bike to get, so we got it. I have so much more to lose, but you know, it took years to put it on, so if it takes a year to take it off, I'm down with that. :) I'm very happy about it. Hubster is dieting with me and he feels so much better too. We both love the bike. He's got bad knees, so he's really happy to have some exercise that doesn't involve his sore knees. It's hell getting old. *grin* I lost one of my tripple chins. How do you get rid of the excess skin on your neck? It's gross.

Congrats on taking steps to look after your health. :-) I've been doing similar, and sadly, it seems that ladies of a certain age can have smooth necks or they can have smaller chins. Speaking from personal experience it seems that they can't do both - not without a good surgeon anyway. *g*

I feel so good already. I can't wait for another ten pounds to be gone. How exciting. :) I'll probably just have to put up with flabby neck. LOL

Yup, it's fun, but hard work too. I have a doctors appointment today for a check up and he's going to be happy that I'm doing well on the diet and exercise. He might even pat me on the back. He's been trying to talk me into this for two years.

Years back, I heard that someone used a lot of moisturising cream and massaged it into the skin to help the skin's elasticity. Maybe that would help?

I went for my yearly checkup and I've lost ten pounds total. For three weeks that doesn't sound like a lot, but the doctor was impressed. He was very happy with both of our losses.

That's awesome, Patt!! Congratulations on your weight loss and I wish you the best of luck reaching your goal!! A little tip: keep an eye on your carbohydrates intake, lowering them can make a big difference on helping to lose weight.

I'm very careful with carbs. You have to have some, but not too much. My doctor was thrilled when he saw me today. He told me to keep up the good work. :)

Right, you still need some carbs, it's dangerous to try to eat no carbs at all. You're doing great!
