I'm going the day after Christmas to Albuquerque to stay with my mom and dad for almost three weeks. I talked to my dad and he said he felt like I should come and stay for awhile because his coughing is getting worse and he's growing weaker. He thinks lung cancer is taking hold of him. So, I'm going even though I think he was just missing me,and it had nothing to do with the lung cancer. Poor thing, he must be worried about it. He also said he's anxious for my cooking. Bahahaha. What a nut. He was a chef and he's craving my cooking???? He made me laugh. He asked me if I knew how to make chicken and dumplings and I told him, "Of course I do." Then he asked if I knew how to make Taco soup and I laughed. I reminded him that most of that stuff he taught me to make. He also told me he's worried about leaving mom behind by herself. I told him not to worry. She'll be taken care of. But then I reminded him that he might just have a cold and that's what's causing the coughing. He never goes tothe doctor because he's a dying man, as he puts it. What's the use? I'm taking him to the pulmanary nurse when I get there. We'll see what she says. He's going to be 89 in two months and he just sounded tired. So, he's going to have three weeks of cooking, cleaning and laundry taken care of. They can just relax. Poor things.
