Gosh, I had such an exciting day.

First of all, I went to the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor and he said that the cyst on my tongue has to be taken out and he thinks it's deep, so I have to have a biopsy done September 6th. Golly sakes, I'm thrilled about that. He said not to worry, but he just wanted to be sure it wasn't any type of cancer. So that's what I have planned so far for September. Stiches on my tongue. Woo Hoo. He said with any luck, it won't take too many stiches. So I can wish for few. On a much lighter note, the doctor is dreamy. I kid you not, he looks 30 at the most and gorgeous. A very handsome man. He's Greek and we talked about being Greek for about a half hour. He didn't rush my visit at all. I really liked him.

Then I had my 28 minute MRI done and I had an anxiety attack while inside the tube. But I was a good girl. I did deep breathing exercises and didn't move a muscle. They told me if I moved, they would have to start all over again. I sure as hell didn't want that. She said I was an excellent patient and the pictures were sharp and clear. Thank God for that. When they pulled me out of that tube or tunnel whatever it's called, my hair was soaking wet. The gown I had on was soaking wet too. The technician told me the next time, I needed to be sedated and that's all there was to it. Both of them were worried about me for a short time. But once I was out, I started calming down again. I didn't know I was claustraphobic at all. Rod took me for my tests today and he said I looked horrible when I came walking out of there. I told him, "Thanks." LOL

The only great thing that happened today, was the fact that Rodney took the day off and we spent it together. Just the two of us, running errands, having brunch and just spending time together. It was a really nice day, except for the MRI. LOL (I'm such a wuss) Now we just have to wait for the results.

I just wanted to give you all an update on my health. I know that you all look forward to that. LOL Be well, all of you and have a great weekend.

Hugs, Patt

Hope the cyst removal and MRI results are all fine. Don't your MRI machines have an opening at the top of the head end? I spend my time in the machine (when I have to be in one) staring out the end, so the claustraphobia doesn't seem to become an issue for me. It's the staying perfectly still that I find a challenge.

This MRI was completely closed up. CAT scans are open at the end and I don't mind those, but wasn't crazy about this one. I had a hard time staying still also. I was in so much pain by the end, I was ready to scream. *sigh*

Nope, it was closed off. Believe me, CAT scans are so much nicer. But my doctor felt that an MRI was needed.

Claustrophobia is a terrible thing. My mother suffered from it. Had to have the curtains open all the time and wouldn't spend any time in our living room as there is only one skinny window by the door. She hated hospital rooms too. Often had panic attacks and I would have to request them to move her to a new room with windows. I got scoffed at only once, but I made a stink and she was moved.
I truly hope that you are all right. I will say a prayer for you and keep you in my continual thoughts as well.
You're a blessing of a friend and I want only the best for you.
Glad that Rod was there for you today, other than the MRI it sounds really nice to have spent the time together

I know it sounds strange, but it was a nice day. I love hanging out with him. He's such a good hubster. I couldn't have asked for anyone better then he. Thank you for your support, T. It means the world to me. I really feel like everything will be all right with the cyst. So I'll try not to worry.

I'm not great at feeling confined but I think I'd strugle more with keeping still LOL. I'm glad that Rodney took the day off and was there for you when you came out, even if he did tell you, you looked awful :D. I hope the cyst removed and MRI results come back clear for you (((hugs)))

Thank you, Beth. We're feeling quite optomistic right now, so we're not too worried. :)

That's great...you should always think positive!

You did great! *huge hugs*
And I'm glad you had a good day after the hospital things. :)

The day was great, even with the tests. :) We enjoyed each others company.

The only way I can get through an MRI is to keep my eyes closed. The gave me a headset so I could hear my favorite radio station. The hardest part for me is when they tell me not to breathe.

Rod is a great guy. :-D

Sending good thoughts your way that everything comes out fine.

This one had no headset that would fit in the system itself. So they just gave me ear plugs and told me not to move or we'd have to start over again. lol

I'm sending nothing but positive vibes your way about your cyst and anything else going on. {{{{{hugs}}}}}}}

Thank you, Grey. :) I'm sure it'll be fine. I'm not sick, so that's good. Can't complain about that.

I love a doctor that gives so much personal time. I miss that ;-(

I am not claustrophobic and my MRI scared me so much. I think they should just sedate everyone.
Aug. 20th, 2011 06:41 pm (UTC)
Yeah, it scared me too. I couldn't put my finger on the feeling, but scared describes it well. With all the technology they have, wouldn't you think they could make one less loud, less cramped and less everything? LOL

Well, you're OK at the moment, that's the matter! Remember to never be catch in a lift breakdown from now on! Those stitches, Aren't you going to be forced to eat ice cream after that? ;-)))
I hope the results of your MRI come clean (cross fingers)

WE're hoping for good results on all tests. Keeping our fingers and toes crossed, but it's really hard to type this way. LOL Thanks for reminding me I'll get ice cream. *g*
