I feel like I've been gone forever. I missed all of my fandom pals and I missed my family here in town. My mom is doing fairly well. Not great, but she just had heart surgery and also has congestive heart failure, so what more can I expect. She told me today she's bored out of her mind. She hates being this weak and not able to go places and do things by herself anymore. There will be a lot of changes made. Poor thing. She's going on 85 and my dad who takes care of her right now is 87. So they miss me being there, taking care of them. I couldn't stay any longer. Three weeks is a long, long time to stay away from your husband and family. My puppy didn't remember me. She didn't hate me or anything, but there wasn't that bond there like there was before. Things changed in both households. I just wanted to let you know that she's home and doing fairly well. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers if you think of it. Thank you, everyone for your support. It helped a great deal.

Hope things settle down and your mom will get her strength back.

Three weeks is a long time to a puppy, but you can bond again. In a week, she'll be your little girl once more.

I hope so. I loved the way we bonded and now she prefers everyone else in the house. But I'm hoping this will change as time goes on. Love your icon. :) I also hope to hear that mom gets some of the stength back. She's not much of a tv person, so watching tv every night is driving her bonkers. Poor thing.

TV is enough to drive anyone bonkers these days. If she doesn't have the eyesight to read, can she listen to books on tape? That might distract her some.

She's going blind, so she decided to prepare. She has tons of books on CD and my sister brought her a really nice portable CD player, so she can listen. She was tickled to death. But for right now, she's still reading, so that's good. She loves her Kindle.

I'm glad she can still read and use the Kindle. The books on tape are a nice back up.
