Challenge #10: Blurred
For: Slash Me Twice
Word Count: 250
Blurred vision is the
result of heads meeting hard
surfaces like brick.
“So Doctor, how is he?” The worried Guide asked.
“He’s going to be all right, Detective Sandburg, he’s got a concussion and is having some trouble with blurred vision. Right now, he says he’s seeing double.” The doctor explained as simply as he could.
“Thank you for taking such good care of him. When do I get to take him home?” Blair wondered aloud.
“As soon as he signs all of the paperwork, he’s good to go.” The doctor patted Blair on the arm and said, “Just be sure he takes it easy for a few days.”
“Don’t worry, I will.” Blair was off to the room to see his partner.
He walked in and smiled when he saw the odd look on Jim’s face. “What’s up, partner?”
“Hey Chief, this blurred vision is going to make me nuts before the day is out. The doctor said it should stop in the next few hours, but I don’t know what I’m going to do in the meantime.” Jim looked perplexed.
“Turn your dials down as far as you can and see if that helps a little bit with sight.” Blair suggested.
“Oh wow, that helped a great deal, Blair. Thank you.” Jim got up and started to get ready to go. “You’re going to drive, right?”
“Yes, Jim, I’m going to drive.” Blair laughed as he helped Jim get dressed and ready for the ride home.
Double vision and Sentinels didn’t go together well.
